The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has initiated a city-wide cleaning operation. LWMC Chief Executive Officer Babar Sahib Din visited various areas to assess the sanitation efforts. During his visits, he interacted with residents and inquired about the cleanliness conditions in their neighborhoods. Instructions were given to the LWMC operations team to install waste bins near small drains in Sabzazar and to intensify action against those dumping construction debris on roads. CEO LWMC stated that special cleaning activities are being carried out in all 9 towns of Lahore under the ‘Suthra Punjab’ vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. All commercial markets have been directed to clear waste before 8 a.m.
Clean-up operations are also ongoing in Sabzazar, Marghzar Colony, Kharak Nala, Multan Road, Samanabad, Scheme Mor, Moon Market, Bhekewala Mor, Campus, and Barkat Market. LWMC officers are present in the field, actively monitoring sanitation efforts, as providing a clean environment for the residents of Lahore remains a top priority. All available resources are being utilized to ensure effective sanitation in the city. The public is urged to cooperate by disposing of waste only in designated bins. For complaints and suggestions related to sanitation, citizens are encouraged to contact the LWMC helpline at 1139 or reach out via social media.
