Application of Death sentence to Yasin Malik scheduled for hearing

Srinagar, New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has fixed August 9 for hearing the NIA’s plea seeking the death penalty for Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik.

The court has issued a notice, Yasin Malik will respond to the NIA’s plea saying that this is a “rare case”. The High Court has also sought the recommendations of the Law Commission on the death penalty. .

British MP Andrew Gwynne, who is also the chairman of Labor Friends of Kashmir UK, has announced to raise the issue of illegal detention of Yasin Malik with the British government next week.
