Indiscriminate crackdown against violaters to be carried out: DG EPA

Director General Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Punjab Hamid Sheikh has said that during the last 24 hours, inspections of 327 industrial units and brick kilns were conducted across Punjab.

In a statement, he said that during the past 24 hours, 4 units were demolished and 13 were sealed.

He said that 154 units across Punjab were issued notices and 6 FIRs were registered.He said that in Lahore, 2 units were sealed and fine over 300,000 rupees were imposed.

Meanwhile, under the supervision of EPA Lahore Deputy Director Ali Ejaz, a flag march was conducted in northern Lahore to demonstrate the zero-tolerance policy against pollution control and environment violations.

During the march, several key areas, including Ring Road, Mahmood Booti and RUDA Industrial Zone were visited to raise awareness about environment protection and pollution control among the public.

The flag march highlighted the agency’s active role in combating pollution and emphasized the importance of public participation in environmental protection.
