Federal Minister for Education Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that the government is utilizing all-out resources to promote quality education.
He stated this while addressing a ceremony organized under the aiges of College of International Skills Development and the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund.
He emphasized that national progress is not possible without adopting research and modern technology.
He said that the government is working tirelessly to promote quality education and reforms are being introduced to improve educational institutions, and middle and matric tech programs will be launched soon in schools.
He highlighted that the youth are Pakistan’s asset and bright future, with a population of 180 million young people, twice the youth population of Japan.
He said that for a better future, these young individuals must be equipped with modern knowledge and skills.
The minister stressed the need to focus on skills education to align the youth with global standards.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that through the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund, scholarships are being provided for skills education across the country. He said these scholarships are awarded based on a need-cum-talent basis.
He informed that rthe skills programs include fields such as beautician training, tourism, fashion designing, digital media, and production, among others.
He said the objective of providing these scholarships is to encourage talented students so they can continue their education effectively.
The Federal Minister emphasized that to move forward, Pakistan must adopt modern technology and focus on expertise in scientific disciplines rather than general education to compete with developed nations.
Later, while speaking to media representatives, the minister urged all political parties to set aside their differences and contribute actively to national development.
He said PTI will decide its own future.
Earlier, the minister also toured various stalls set up by the students and met with children who had received PEEF scholarships.
On this occasion, CEO PEEF Syeda Hajra Sohail briefed the Federal Minister.
She highlighted the Inter-Tech Scholarship Program and other scholarship initiatives. She said that programs like Inter-Tech Scholarships have transformed the approach to education.
She said PEEF aim is to promote skills, particularly for students from underprivileged areas, by eliminating financial barriers and providing fully funded scholarships to help them succeed in their respective fields.
