fourth meeting of Provincial Steering Committee for “Dhee Rani Program” was held today

The fourth meeting of the Provincial Steering Committee for the “Dhee Rani Program” was held today in Lahore, chaired by Provincial Minister Sohail Shaukat Butt and Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Political Affairs Zeeshan Malik.

The primary agenda of the meeting was to approve approximately 50 applications received from deserving couples in the Lahore district under the Dhee Rani Program.

After detailed deliberations, these applications were approved during the meeting.

According to details, in the first phase, collective weddings will be arranged for 1,500 deserving couples, starting this month in Lahore.

On this occasion, an agreement was finalized between the Social Welfare Department and the Bank of Punjab to provide newlywed couples with a sum of one lakh rupees via ATM cards, along with other facilities.

During the meeting, the Director General Social Welfare Sikandar Zeeshan and Chief Digital Officer Bank of Punjab Nofal Daud briefed the committee on the program’s preparations.

It was decided that under the Dhee Rani Program, special preference will be given to daughters of orphans, destitute and disabled individuals.

In addition to the one lakh rupees as a wedding gift, couples will also receive essential household items. The Punjab government is allocating 1,000 million PKR for this project, aiming to provide social and financial support to underprivileged families in the process of marriage.
