The second day of the anti-polio campaign continues in Punjab, with polio teams actively administering drops door-to-door.
The head of the Punjab Anti-Polio Program Khizer Afzal emphasized that eradicating polio is the government’s top priority.
He directed that special focus be placed on priority populations during the campaign and directed polio teams to remain vigilant at transit points.
He said that the districts selected for this campaign were chosen based on the spread of the virus and that the campaign would help control its transmission.
He also directed polio monitoring teams to pay special attention to remote areas.
Khizer Afzal said that 15 districts are included in the campaign and that in major districts, the campaign will continue until Sunday.
More than 110,000 people are participating in the polio campaign.
According to the spokesperson for the Punjab Anti-Polio Program, 3.9 million children were vaccinated on the first day, with more than 400,000 children vaccinated in Lahore.
