Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed that revenue collection targets must be met at all costs.
She stated this while presiding over a special meeting in Lahore today that reviewed the revenue collection targets for the first quarter.
She also praised the departments that achieved their revenue targets. She also sought records of land owned by various departments.
During the meeting, the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed the formulation of a plan for the optimal use of government-owned land.
The meeting approved the expansion of the Punjab Revenue Authority to various districts of the province.
It was also decided in principle to empower ADCD and Assistant Commissioners in the affairs of the Punjab Revenue Authority.
She directed for planning to enhance the province’s financial resources. She also directed the compilation of certified data for restaurants, bakeries and marriage halls across the province.
She emphasized that the revenue collection would be increased without burdening the public with additional taxes. She assured that every penny collected in the treasury would be spent on the people.
The meeting set a timeline for the formation of the legal framework for the Punjab Revenue Authority.
