Dr. Shamshad Akhtar attended the IMF meeting in Morocco

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs Dr. Shamshad Akhtar attended a high-level meeting of Finance Ministers with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund in Morocco. In a tweet from the Ministry of Finance, it was stated that on this occasion important global economic issues and mutual cooperation to strengthen financial stability were discussed.

Dr. Shamshad Akhtar’s participation in the meeting indicated Pakistan’s determination to advance economic prosperity and global financial cooperation.

On the other hand, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar met the Minister of State for Financial Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Muhammad Bin Hadi Al Husseini, on the occasion of the annual meeting of the World Bank, IMF. According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates Discussions focused on strengthening economic ties between the UAE, increasing cooperation in finance and revenue matters, promoting investment and exploring opportunities for mutual economic development.

Meanwhile, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar has met a high-level delegation from Moody’s, a global financial services company.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance on Sunday, during the meeting, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar reiterated the government’s commitment to promote investor confidence and maintain Pakistan’s positive credit rating in the global financial markets and transparency. In addition, the caretaker federal minister for finance met with the officials of the independent credit rating agency S&P Global during his visit to Morocco. On Sunday, the Ministry of Finance tweeted that during the meeting, he discussed financial stability. The government is committed to ensuring, improving financial management and implementing reforms that will contribute to sustainable economic growth.
