On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Parliamentary Secretary for Environment MPA Advocate Kanwal Liaqat visited Nabha Road and Anarkali Food Street in Lahore today
During the visit, the Enviourment Department Teamtook action against the use of substandard quality shopping bags and seized bags that were below the 75-micron standard.
Speaking on the occasion MPA Advocate Kanwal Liaqat said that, as per the special instructions of the Minister for Environment, Marriyum Aurangzeb, action is being taken to prevent the use of substandard polythene bags.
She said that awareness was also given to shopkeepers and action was also taken against sale points selling poor-quality plastic bags.
