CM Punjab lays foundation stone of Pakistan’s first govt autism school

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif laid the foundation stone of Pakistan’s first government autism school.

While speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed that the construction of the autism school be completed within a year.

She directed the immediate hiring of autism specialists.
She directed that the project be prepared with the consultation of autism experts.

She said that Pakistan’s first autism school project is very close to her heart. She emphasized that children with autism deserve compassion and love.

On this occasion, she inspected the model of the autism school.

The Chief Minister was briefed on the first autism school.

In the briefing, it was informed that the first autism school will consist of a ground floor and a first floor, with 11 classrooms for the junior section and 10 classrooms for the senior section. It was informed in that the ground floor will feature cubicle speech sessions, 10 classrooms, a therapy room, a pediatric room, a pre-vocational training room, a daily living activities room, and a computer room.

On the first floor, there will be 3 classrooms, a multi-purpose hall, a committee room, a library, a resource room and a material development room.

During the briefing, it was highlighted that the autism school will have space for two additional floors for future expansion. Additionally, the school will feature a security wall, fire alarm system, telephone exchange and overhead reservoir.
