An introductory meeting was organized by Pak Mission Society to promote effective strategies for combating climate change and to emphasize the need for collective efforts. Representatives from the Punjab Climate Action Network (PCAN) and individuals from various sectors participated in the event.
The meeting was attended by Shahzadi Kiran, Country Head of KNH Pakistan; Dure Shawar, General Secretary of PCAN; Asifa, Director of the Parliamentary Development Unit of Punjab Assembly; Rashid, District Forest Officer; Dr. Younis Zahid, former Director of the Environment and Climate Protection Department of Punjab; and Wakeel Ahmed, Head of Programs at PMS. Participants shared their views on the impacts of climate change and effective strategies to address them.
Experts noted that climate change is a global issue, and joint efforts at both the national and provincial levels are essential to tackle it. The recommendations presented during the meeting will play a significant role in shaping future climate action plans.
