PML-N leader Bilal Azhar Kayani says promotion of exports is the priority of incumbent government.
Talking to newsmen in Lahore today, he said that the Pakistan Muslim League (N) has always worked to improve the national economy. He said that a strong economy leads to a strong defence.
He said that foreign exchange reserves are increasing, the government’s actions are stabilizing the currency, inflation has decreased and the inflation rate has dropped to 9.6%.
He informed that prices of petroleum products have been reduced and lowering the policy rate has made business operations easier.
He informed that the government is utilizing all resources to provide relief to the public.
He informed that the federal government has allocated a package of 50 billion rupees for electricity consumers using up to 200 units.He said that the Punjab government has provided relief to electricity consumers using between 201 and 500 units, providing relief of up to 14 rupees per unit in the bills for August and September.
Bilal Azhar Kayani criticized the PTI government for bringing Pakistan to the brink of default. He said promotion of anarchy and chaos was the agenda of PTI elements. He regretted that PTI hit national economy badly.
He said in tenure of PTI chief, efforts were made to enhance contacts with Israel.He asserted that Pakistan’s economy is on the right track, and international institutions’ confidence is being restored.
He expressed his commitment to reaching 58 billion dollars in exports by 2029.He pointed out that the tax-to-GDP ratio is at 8%and stressed that tax collection is the solution to economic issues.
He said that reforms will be introduced in the FBR, and the tax net will be expanded.He also emphasized that digitalization of the FBR will help resolve issues.Bilal Azhar Kayani reiterated that promoting exports is the government’s priority.
