Kundi directs SNGPL authorities to introduce efficient measures to overcome gas load-shedding in KP

Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has directed the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines (SNGPL) authorities to introduce efficient measures to overcome gas load-shedding in KP and ensure uninterrupted gas supply to consumers during upcoming winter season.

He stated this during a meeting with Acting Managing Director (MD) SNGPL Arbab Saqib called at Governor House in Lahore today.

Governor KP Faisal Karim Kundi expressed his reservations on decline in gas pressure during the winter season and asked for resolution of the town border station (TBS) related low gas pressure and gas volume issues in his province.

The acting MD SNGPL briefed the KP governor on measures being taken for resolution of problems, being faced by the KP consumers, and promised further remedial measures to provide relief to people. He informed the KP governor that work on extension of gas pipeline in Dera Ismail Khan had been launched, adding that work on laying of gas pipeline in Kotla Syedan and other areas would start soon. He said that provision of gas supply to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Drabun from the gas reserves of Kot Palak would start very soon.

He briefed that laying of Shiva gas pipeline is undergoing at a rapid pace, adding that work on linking the Kot Palak gas reserves with the national gas pipeline to provide gas to Kot Drabun area of DI Khan was in progress. Arbab Saqib also briefed Faisal Karim Kundi on Shiva and Bettani oil fields.

Meanwhile, in a meeting with Chief Executive Officer SMEDA, the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has said that under the supervision of SMEDA, special projects focusing on the development of youth and women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be prioritized to achieve the mission of economic prosperity.

He said that youth engagement and women empowerment are among his priorities and SMEDA’s active role in this regard is extremely important.

He said that there are opportunities for promoting small businesses at the local level in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and SMEDA needs to be more proactive in introducing them on a global scale.
