Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif visited the Government Kinnaird Girls High School Empress Road in Lahore today and launched the “Back to School” campaign.
She formally inaugurated the enrollment registration campaign for young children.She also inaugurated the Smart Classroom Project and initiated a tree plantation drive by having students plant saplings.
The Chief Minister presented school bags as gifts to the young students. Along with the school bags, UNICEF provided Early Childhood Kits. UNICEF, in collaboration with the Department of School Education is distributing 1,000 school bags.The Chief Minister visited classrooms and interacted with the students and also visited the physics lab.
Upon the students’ request, the Chief Minister took a group photo with them. She also inquired about their favorite subjects.
During her conversation, the Chief Minister expressed her desire to make every school in Punjab exemplary.She said that her aim to make every public school in Punjab even better than private schools. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif praised the Smart Classroom initiative.
Provincial Minister for Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat briefed the Chief Minister on the “Back to School” and student registration campaigns. He also informed her about the Smart Classroom Project. It was apprised that with the support of Huawei, the Smart Classroom is equipped with cameras for recording lectures, allowing students to benefit from the recorded sessions.
