As per the instructions of Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, the Environment Protection Department Punjab has carried out indiscriminate crackdown against 22 fat extraction units across districts in Punjab including Lahore and demolished them.
According to the spokesperson of the Environment Department Punjab Sajid Bashir, FIRs have been registered against 44 units while 58 units have been sealed.
The spokesperson informed that 20 units were sealed in Lahore while 22 factories were demolished and 14 were sealed in Kasur.
According to the Punjab Environment Department spokesperson, these actions were taken for polluting the environment by using plastic waste, garbage, rexine, old shoes and clothes as fuel.
